Active citizenship means being able to be part of your community and civil society through things like voting or volunteering.

Many of the people we support face barriers to participating in their communities and to speaking up about the issues affecting them. 

Ark believes that everyone should be able to have an active role in their communities should they choose, and to support this, we have a dedicated Participation Officer.

We have helped people to make changes to their services and communities, as well as wider society through collaborating with local and central Government.
