Over a third of people we support have a diagnosis or have characteristics of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). Ark has had an Autism Forum since 2018. The forum helped define and develop our approaches, and to standardise the work we do, in supporting people with autism.

In 2024, we launched our Autism Strategy with support from the forum members and in consultation with supported people and their families that had volunteered to consult on this. This drew on the learning from the Autism Forum’s research and activity and was shared internally with a 2-year action plan to complete implementation.

As part of the action plan, Ark’s Autism Forum has developed the Autism Brochure. This offers insight into key areas of our Autism Strategy and showcases some of the support we provide.
