Stuart from Forfar raised an incredible £1,900 for Diabetes Aide
We’re incredibly proud to share that one of the individuals supported by Ark’s service in Forfar has recently been featured in the local paper for a truly remarkable achievement.
Stuart Whyte used his artistic talent to make a difference for a cause close to his heart, raising an unbelievable £1900 for Diabetes Aide.
Stuart achieved this impressive sum by travelling across Tayside and Fife selling his artwork in pubs, restaurants and shops to raise money. His artwork is now displayed in establishments across Scotland, and he has donated all the proceeds to charity.
Stuart found his love and talent for artwork in later life, proving it is never too late to find joy in a new hobby.
Stuart dedicates a lot of time to creating his artworks as well as travelling around to sell them. But he doesn’t stop there! He had the idea to host a fundraising event to raise even more money to help people living with diabetes. He went on to organise and hold a disco to raise money – and it was huge success, bringing in £285!
Before the newspaper spotlight, he was presented with a certificate of appreciation from the Diabetes Aide shop.
Stuart told the local paper “I just like helping people”. Stuart’s story is a reminder of the huge difference one person can make when they want to help. We can’t wait to see what comes next. Well done, Stuart!
