Do I need previous experience?

For support workers, experience is not essential but a little might help you on your way.

Experience required for other roles in Ark varies according to the remit of the job. All requirements will be outlined in the job advert and job profile.

How long does the recruitment process take?

Getting you started could take 4 to 6 weeks. You can help by ensuring all your reference details are fully completed on the application form, you complete your PVG/Disclosure form online as quickly as possible and you provide all the right ID. All of these checks are completed once you have been offered a position.

Once these checks are complete, we’ll invite you to start induction with us.

 

What does being a Support Worker involve?

As a Support Worker you will be a dedicated and caring individual who is committed to making a difference in our supported people’s lives. Your role will be to provide practical, emotional and social support.

Every day will be different but you will be part of making sure our supported people live safe and happy lives, while making their own choices.

Ark support people with long term and enduring conditions such as learning disabilities, mental health conditions and autism spectrum conditions.

What qualifications do I need?

For support worker roles, no qualifications are required as we support all support workers to complete their vocational SVQ qualification and ensure everyone benefits from continual professional development as part of their career with us.

What training do you provide?

You will be welcomed into Ark and placed in a great supportive team under the leadership of a knowledgeable manager. We’ll provide a comprehensive induction, regular supervision and team meetings to ensure you maximise your potential.

We’ll develop your career by helping you register and paying for your initial SSSC registration.  We’ll support you in completing your vocational SVQ training and we’ll ensure you benefit from continual professional development. This is the start of a very fulfilling career in social care.

For corporate services roles such as Finance, Human Resources, Learning & Development, Housing & Asset Management, Compliance & Improvement and ICT, we are happy to invest in role specific internal and external training.

We have our comprehensive E-learning platform where core training for all roles can be completed.
